How to add Windows 2012 R2 Remote Desktop server to Windows 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Services Manager

Q: Since Windows 2012 R2 doesn’t have Remote Desktop Services Manager, can I add Windows 2012 R2 Remote Desktop server to Windows 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Services Manager? If so, how?

  1. Run Remote Desktop Services Manager from Windows 2008 R2 Server.
  2. Right click on My Group and click Add to group.

3. Add the server hostname of Windows 2012 R2 Server. You should be able to Disconnect, Send Message, Remote Control, Reset, Status and Log Off a remote session on Windows 2012 R2.
