Situation: The client’s active Palo Alto Firewall failed and they would like to active the Standby Firewall to replace the failed firewall. Here is how.
- install all software and Applications to match the active firewall. Please refer to this post:
How to upgrade Palo Alto Firewall Standby software and applications
2. Export named configuration snapshot from the active Firewall and import it into Standby firewall. Please refer to this psot:
How to export and import Palo Alto Firewall configuration
3. Switch the network cable from Active firewall to Standby firewall.
4. Download and install latest Threats on the new active firewall.
5. Test it.
