Case Study - The name could not be resolved.  The name could not be matched to a name in the address list

Situation: The client created a new user and mail box.  When he tries to setup the email Outlook, he receives the error message, "The name could not be resolved.  The name could not be matched to a name in the address list. "

Troubleshooting: 1. Exchange System Manger lists the user' mailbox.

2. The user Properties has the email address list under E-mail Address.

3. The user is not listed in the Global Address List.

Possible causes: if you can gain access to the mailbox by using Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) and Post Office Protocol version 3 (POP3),  the NSPI may not be enabled on the global catalog server (resolution is restarting the global catalog server). However, this is not issue in our case. After study the settings carefully, we find the email address is hidden.

Solution: check the Hidden by going to the user properties>Exchange Advanced.
