Wireless laptop can access the Internet but wired computers

Situation: The client has a D-Link DI-713P wireless router. It has been working for 3 years without any problem. This morning, he could not access the Internet using his wired Desktop. He also tried the server. It the same problem. However, he could browse the Internet using his wireless laptop.

Troubleshooting:

1. Could not ping the Internet, the router and other computers.

2. Ipconfig displays APIPA (Automatic Private IP Addressing) 169.254.x.x.

3. Assigned static IP didn't do any good.

4. The M1 is blinking while M2 light is off (the M2 should be solid). Re-start the router didn't fix the problem.

Solution: Re-set the router to the factory settings. To do this, power off the router. Hold the re-set while turning on the router until the M1 blinking.
