Use scope settings to limit the scope of an exception

If you create a program or port exception or enable a system service exception, be sure to configure the scope of the exception. The scope setting restricts an exception to computers that are directly reachable or to specific Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) addresses and address ranges.
