MX
(Exchange Online)
|
Sends incoming mail for your domain to the Exchange Online
service in Office 365. If you want mail delivery to go to your
old mail system, you will want to leave the existing MX records
with a higher preference/priority.
|
Domain: For example, hsa.com
Target email server: <MX token>.mail.protection.outlook.com
Preference/Priority: 0/low
To set up your MX record, you will need to get your specific
“MX token” by looking at the list of DNS records for your
domain. To find it, choose your domain on the domain manager
page in Office 365 (Admin > Domains or Admin > Manage your
organization > Manage your domains for website and email), and
then choose Manage DNS > View DNS records.
What
is MX priority?
|
SPF (TXT)

Helps to prevent other people from using your domain to send
spam or other malicious email. Sender policy framework (SPF)
records work by identifying the servers that are authorized to
send email from your domain.
Note:
|
Ensure any existing SPF records for other email
distribution software remain in place (such as
records for marketing email). |
|
TXT Name @
Values: v=spf1
include:spf.protection.outlook.com –all
Note:
|
If the firewall or proxy server blocks TXT
lookups on an external DNS, you should also add this
record to the internal DNS record. |
