How to setup an email in Outlook Express using your domain name

To setup an email address with your domain name, for example, blin@ms-mvps.com, you need to create a POP account first and then add it into your email software such as Outlook or Outlook express. !n this how to  we use Brinkster.com as example and setup blin@ms-mvps.com in Outlook Express. (Note: replace your domain name with ms-mvps.com)

A. Setup a POP3 email account in  Brinkster

1. Login to your Brinkster account at the top right corner of any Brinkster web page.

2. Select the Email Manager from the left menu (see Picture).

3. Click on the domain name you wish to create an email address for, it is ms-mvps.com in our case.

4. Click on the New Account button. Enter the Mailbox Name and choose a password (see picture).

5. Finally, click the Create Account button. Note that new email accounts take approximately 6 hours to become fully functional.

B. How to Setup an Email Client in Outlook Express

1. Open Outlook Express.

2. Select Tools>Accounts (see picture)

3. Click Add and select Mail under Internet Account.

4. Type the user name in Display Name under Your name, Bob Lin in our case.

5. Type the email address under Internet email address, in our case it is blin@ms-mvps.com (see picture).

6. Under Email Server name, type Incoming (POP3) and Outgoing (SMTP) server name, In our case they are mail.ms-mvps.com (see picture).

7. Under Internet mail logon, type your email address, blin@mvps.com , and password. Click Next and Finish to complete the setup (see picture).

Now, you should be able to check the email.
