Study - Can't install pcAnywhere Situation: The client's computer crashed and he installed Windows XP Pro to replace the Windows ME. After finished the installation, he could not run pcAnywhere. Then he tried to install pcAnywhere 10.5. The installation looked package.msi under Windows\temp\pkx2 but could not local it. Troubleshooting: When tried to remove the pcAnywhere, it also looked for the package.msi. We searched whole computer and could not find the pacakge.msi. Resolution: remove pcAnywhere manually. To do that, use regedit to find all pcAnywhere , package and pkx2 and deleted them. Also delete pcAnywhere folder.
