How to reset the secure channel between the problematic client and the DC

 

You may have two options to rebuild the secure channel, use NETDOM utility or disjoin and rejoin client computer to the domain. To reset the secure channel between the problematic client and the DC by running the following steps:

1. Please download the Windows Server 2003 Support Tools from the following
download links:

Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 32-bit Support Tools
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=96a35011-fd83-419d-
939b-9a772ea2df90&DisplayLang=en

Note: NETDOM.exe comes with Windows Server 2003 Support tools. This tool
can run on the Windows Vista client.

2. Click Start, type: CMD in the Start Search bar and then right click on
the Command Prompt in the search list and then select "Run as Administrator"
3. Type the following command
 
netdom reset  <machinename>  /domain:<domainname>
 
NOTE: Replace <machinename> and <domainname> with the real Windows Vista
computer name and domain name.
