How to assign public IP address to a router behind AT&T Modem

 

By default AT&T modem/Motorola 2210 Modem assign a private IP address to a router or LAN device connecting the mode. In a case you want to assign a public IP address to the LAN device or router behind the modem, please follow these steps.

 

1. Open AT&T modem web utility. Be default the AT&T modem is assigned 192.168.1.254 as LAN IP address.

2. Click Advanced in the left pane and then select Connection Configuration.

 

 

3. In the Connection Configuration page, check Yes, use public IP address in Let LAN device Internet address.

4. Click Save Change and restart the modem. You may need to restart the router or LAN device to take the cahnge.
