Why can I can logon using domain ID without connecting the domain.

1)      Why does the client machine allow a user to login without any network connection? It should at least give a message something like the Domain server cannot be contacted.

2)      OK. If the user is allowed login without network connection, when the user gets connected back to the network will the user be able to access all rights set on the Domain Server or will the user have to logout and re-login into the domain?

In most cases, the answer is yes. For example, I bring my laptop to home. I logon my domain username without accessing the domain. After establishing the VPN, I can access my network as I am in the office.

3)      If I want only one profile per user (UserA.domain user profile common for A domain & UserA user Profile is for this computer, whether on domain network or without domain network, how do I go about it?
