2. If the Sign in page popup, login using your Office 365 credentials.

  • Select your email address.

3. In Additional security verification page, you will have these options: Authentication phone (normally it is your smart phone) , Office phone (you can have extension here), Alternative authentication phone and Authentication app or Token. Choose how you want to do your verification.

4. Click Save to save the settings.

Note: 1.Although all options are listed, your admin may not make them all available; you’ll get a message if you choose an option your admin didn’t enable. 2.You also have an option to restore multi-factor authentication on previously trust devices.

* Click Add a print or scanner

* Click on The printer that I want isn’t listed.

* Check Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings. Then Next.

* Make sure Use an existing port is checked. Then Next.

* In Install the printer driver, highlight Microsoft under Manufacture, and select Microsoft Print To PDF under Printer.

* Keep the default printer name, Microsoft Print to PDF, and click Next

* Click Finish

1.Checking the password’s expiration date for a user in local computer

* In the Search bar, type CMD, and click Open.

• Type this command:

net user /domain %username%

2. Checking a user password expiration date •Run Administrator Command Prompt

•Run this command:

net user username /domain

Note: Type real username replacing username

3. Check all domain users’ expiration date using PowerShell

* In the Search bar, type powershell, and click on Run as Administrator

* Run this command:

get-aduser -filter * -properties passwordlastset, passwordneverexpires |ft Name, passwordlastset, Passwordneverexpires

•To display the expiration date rather than the password last set date, use this command:

Get-ADUser -filter {Enabled -eq $True -and PasswordNeverExpires -eq $False} –Properties “DisplayName”, “msDS-UserPasswordExpiryTimeComputed” |

Select-Object -Property “Displayname”,@{Name=”ExpiryDate”;Expression={[datetime]::FromFileTime($_.”msDS-UserPasswordExpiryTimeComputed”)}}

* To export any of the PowerShell results to a CSV just add | export-csv FILEPATH to the end

How to Expand a VM Hard Disk in Hyper-V

With Microsoft Hyper-V, it is easy to expand a virtual hard drives. This article will show you how to extend a volume in Hyper-V VM.

1. Turn off the VM, right click on it, and select Settings.

2. Click on IDE Controller  or SCSI Controller, and then Hard Drive

3. In Virtual hard disk, click on Edit.

4. Click Next in Locate Virtual Hard Disk.

5. Check Expand in Choose Action.

6. In Expand Virtual Hard Disk, enter the new size. For example, original size is 500GB. If we want to add another 150GB, then the total size is 650GB.

7. In Completing the Edit Virtual Hard Disk Wizard, click on Finish.

8. Login to the VM and check the Drive spaces C which 499GB.

9. Open Computer Management and go to Disk Management, you will see Unallocated which is we just extend in Hyper-V settings.

10. Right-click on Unallocated and select Extend Volume.

11. In Welcome to the Extend Volume Wizard, click on Next.

12. In Select Disks, highlight the new added volume 150GB, click Next.

13. In Completing the Extend Volume Wizard, click on Finish.

14. The Disk Management will show C drive is 650GB.

15. In File Explorer, the C drive is 649GB.

How to change password on Remote Desktop

With the Remote Desktop Connection, the CTRL+ALT+Del keystroke won’t work  though since your own operating system utilizes it. This article will show you different options to change the password on Remote Desktop.

Method 1: Use the “CTRL” + “ALT” + “End” combination

• If you have two monitor at home computer or Laptop, make sure the Remote Desktop is active or click on the screen of Remote Desktop. Then send “CTRL” + “ALT” + “End” combination.

* Your keyboard may have two “End” keys as shown next screen. Use the one next to Delete key (green pointing).

* If the End key combines with other key, it could be blue color as shown next screen. You need to send Ctrl+Alt+Fn+End combination. Note: Fn is also called Function Key.

Method 2: Use On Screen Keyboard

* On the Remote Desktop, type osk in the Search bar and clock Open.

* The On Screen Keyboard popup on the Remote Desktop.

* To send Ctrl+Alt+Del combination to change the password on the Remote Desktop, press “Ctrl” and “Alt” in the physical keyboard (on home computer or laptop keyboard), then select “Del” in the On Screen Keyboard (on the Remote Desktop)

* Now, close On Screen Keyboard, you should have an option to Change a password.

Method 3: Hit the Shift 5 times
* Press the Shift 5 times which will bring up sticky keys on all systems (local computer and remote computer).  Cancel all but click Yes on the RDP session where you want to send the Ctrl-Alt-Del.   Then simply press the keys one after the other, for example, Crtl first, Alt second, and then Del.

* Now, you should have the option to Change a password

Method 4: Use a command
* Type cmd in the Search bar and click on Run as administrator.

* Click Yes in “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?”

* Copy and past this command:
explorer shell:::{2559a1f2-21d7-11d4-bdaf-00c04f60b9f0}
* Press Enter.

* You should have Change a password option.

How to enable Hyper-V on Windows 10

With Hyper-V, you can run multiple operating systems as virtual machines on Windows 10. There are many ways to enable Hyper-V such as using the Windows 10 Control Panel, PowerShell or using the Deployment Imaging Servicing and Management tool (DISM). This video shows you each option.

1.Enable Hyper-V using PowerShell

• Type powershell in the Search bar.

• Click Run as administrator under Windows PowerShell.

• Run the following command:

Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Hyper-V –All

• Press Enter

* Enter Y and press Enter. The computer will restart

2. Enable Hyper-V with CMD/PowerShell and DISM

With The Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool (DISM), we can enable many Windows features.

* Run PowerShell or CMD session as Administrator.

• Type the following command and then press enter:

DISM /Online /Enable-Feature /All /FeatureName:Microsoft-Hyper-V

* Type Y and press Enter to restart the computer.

3. Enable the Hyper-V role through Settings or Control Panel

* Right click on the Windows button and select Apps and Features.

* Select Programs and Features under Related settings.

* Select Turn Windows Features on or off.

* Check Hyper-V and click OK.

Now, type Hyper-V, you should have Hyper-V Manager

Requirements

* Windows 10 Enterprise, Pro, or Education

64-bit Processor with Second Level Address * Translation (SLAT).

* CPU support for VM Monitor Mode Extension (VT-c on Intel CPUs). •Minimum of 4 GB memory. •

Note: The Hyper-V role cannot be installed on Windows 10 Home.

Upgrade from Windows 10 Home edition to Windows 10 Pro by opening up Settings > Update and Security > Activation.

How to check and install Windows 10 Updates

Some Windows 10 updates like version 20H2 may take one or tow hours to install and restart. It is recommended to install the update after hours. This article will show you how to check and install the update.

1. Click Star>Settings.

2. Click on Update & Security.

* If you see updates available, click Download and install now.

* If the update is installing or pending,  let the update installation completes.

* When the update completes or you see Restart required,  click Restart now. 

* In some cases, you may receive the Windows update notification. Click Pick a time to schedule the restart.

* Note: the restart may take over one hour, so schedule the restart after hours.

* If you see You’re up to date, you are good to go and close the Settings page.
