In a case, you may need to rename the VM VHDX name, for example test.vhdx to production.vhdx. This article shows how to do so.
1. Turn off the VM in Hyper-V Manager.
2. Open File Explorer and highlight the VM VHDX file and select Rename.
3. In Hyper-V Manger, go to the Settings of the VM.
4. Go to IDE Controller 0
5. Browse to the renamed VHDX file.
4. You may also want to rename the VM under Hyper-V Manager.
