Multiple SSL Web Sites

Q: We're trying to come up with a solution to fix the following problem and I'm hoping someone here knows how to go about fixing it...

We have IIS running two websites, both of which use SSL certificates.
The websites are divided by host headers

We have recently become aware that host headers may not be supported by SSL so we are wondering if this is indeed true.

If so, does anyone know how to make it work????

A:  You could use a different IP address for each secure site. To do that, please follow this steps.

1. Setup Multiple IP address on the server - How to setup multiple IPs on NIC

2. Assign IP to first web site. Run IIS, right click on the first web site and choose Properties.  Under the Web Site tab > IP Address, change from (All Unassigned) to the first IP address for example 192.168.0.1. Enable SSL.

3. Assign IP to the second web site. Do the same like # 2, but assign different IP, for example 192.168.0.2.
4. Make sure you have the DNS point to the correct IP address and forward the port 443 to each IP.
