Installing Office SharePoint Server 2007 on Windows Server 2008
This is
a little more difficult than you might expect as the standard Office
SharePoint Server 2007 installation is blocked by W2K8, with a pre-requisite
for installing OSS 2007 being OSS 2007 SP1. To obtain this seemingly
non-existent software installation you have to do the following things: 1) Take
a copy of either the x86 or x64 folder from the OSS 2007 installation DVD
and put it on the local server 2)
Download the appropriate WSS 3.0 SP1 and OSS 2007 SP1 3)
Extract both service packs to the "Updates" folder which is a sub folder of
the OSS 2007 installation folder ("file.exe /extract" will do it. In
case you don't know this, you can drag a file onto the run bar if you want
and then you can add the "/extract" on the end 4) Run
"Setup.exe" from the installation folder. Post your questions, comments, feedbacks and suggestions Related Topics
