How to schedule Trojan scan

 

With GFI LANguard, you can customize and configure various aspects of GFI LANguard including scan schedules, vulnerability checks, scan filters and scan profiles. This example descripts how to schedule Trojan scans that enables you to automate the process of scan Trojan.

 

1. In GFI LANguard, click Configuration.

 

2. In the left pan, click Scheduled Scans or the top icons of the right pan, double-click on Add new scan icons.

 

 

3. In the Define target type, select the scan type and give scan job description. In our example, we will scan entire domain network. Type the scan job description if you want.

 

 

4. In the Define target computers, select the target computers or domain/workgroup. Note: If you select scan entire domain or multiple computers make sure you have privileges in all selected computers. Click Next to continue.

 

 

5. In the Set the triggering time, select the day and time we want to start the job. If is recommended to uncheck Wait for offline machines to connect to the network. Otherwise, it will take long time to process. If you would like to scan just a a few computers, you may check this feature. Click Next to continue.

 

 

6. In the Select scan profile, select Network & Software audit from Scan job operation. Highlight Trojan Ports and then click on Next to continue.

 

7. In the Remote logon credentials, keep the default settings which is GFI LANguard 9.0 Attendant Service account. If you are scanning Unix or Linux, you may select SSH Private key. Click on Next to continue.

 

 

8. In the Specify auto-remediation options, all Auto remediation are grayed out in our example because we are scanning Trojan ports and auto remediation is not available. Click on Next to continue.

 

 

9. In the Review scheduled scan job, review all settings. If the settings are correct, click on Finish to complete the setup.

 

 

10. You should have the scheduled scan display in the right pan. If the it is marked red x, you may right click on it and select Enable. The scan job is read to scan in the scheduled time.

 

 

11. After scheduled scan ran, you can check the scan results by clicking Analyze>Scan Results.
