How to schedule a group computers update virus definition
In general, most networking computers update the virus definition from the Parent Server. However, if one or some computers have a problem to communicate with the Parent Server to update the definition, you may create a group and configure it to update the definition from the Symantec LiveUpdate server.
To do that, right click on the Groups of the Parent server. Select New group. Type the group name, for example 64bit. Right click on the group you just created, select All Tasks>LiveUpdate>Configure.... (If you not see the group you just created, press F5 to refresh or go to Tools>Discovery Service to clear cache and run discovery). Check the Symantec LiveUpdate Server.
Click Ok to close the LiveUpdate Configuration. Right click on the group again and select All Tasks>Symantec AntiVirus>Virus Definition Manager... Uncheck Update virus definitions from parent server and check Update virus definition for automatic updates using LiveUpdate. Then click Schedule to setup a time to update the definition.
