How to setup
SBS printer on all workstations automatically
Q: I
have a few SBS 2003 clients and Windows 2003 server clients who would like
all active directory printers installed automatically on all client
computers for all users, instead of manually adding them using the Add
Printer Wizard. Is there any way to this?
A: Windows Small Business Server
adds a printer published in
Active Directory to
client computers running Windows XP Professional or Windows 2000
Professional.
To do that, please follow these
steps:
- Make sure all the printers have "show in active
directory" selected on the Sharing tab.
- Open the Server Management console.
- Click Client Computers.
- Run "Assign applications to client computers"
Wizard.
- Select all the clients and click next.
- Select Advanced. Check Printers.
All networking
printers should be installed on the workstations when next logon.
