How to use ROMPaq USB Key to upgrade HP Server BIOS To
upgrade on a HP server
running VMware, you may need to use ROMPaq USB Key. ROMPaq USB Key is
Windows-based utility to create a bootable USB Drive and copy necessary
files to a USB flash media device through the Windows environment. Then you
can boot the server from the bootable USB flash media device to update the
system ROM. To install BIOS on a server running VMware, you can follow these
steps. 1.
Download the BIOS SoftPaq to a directory on a system running Microsoft
Windows. 2.
From the directory, execute the downloaded SoftPaq file: Simply double click
on the SPxxxxx file follow the installation wizard to complete the SoftPaq
installation process. The HP USB Key ROMPAQ Setup Creation Utility will create a bootable Devices and copy the files. 4. After booting from the USB drive, follow the instruction to upgrade the BIOS.
