Install XP on Vista computer using
Vista disk partition tool.
To install XP on a computer running Vista, I use Vista disk
partition tool. These are the steps:

Open Computer Manager by going to
Start>Computer>Manager.

On the left pane, select Storage>Disk
Management.

On the right pane, right-click on the disk
you want to create another partition and select Shrink Volume.

Enter the amount of space to shrink and the
click Shrink.

It will create unallocated space. Now
right-click the unallocated and then New Simple Volume.
-
Follow the instruction and choose NTFS file
system, it will create a new partition and format it.
-
Now, you can install the XP as dual boot OS.
