How to extend a partition in Windows Vista, 7 or 2008 - Step by step with screenshots

With Windows Vista, 7 and 2008, you can extend a partition easily by using Disk Management. This example based on SBS 2008.

1.Open the Disk Management console. If you just added a hard disk, you see initialize disk page. Click OK to continue.

2.Select the disk you want to extend, for example Drive C. Right click on it and select Extend Volume.

Note: Extending any volume is fine as long as you have additional unallocated free space on that same physical hard disk .

3.In Select Disks,  select the hard disk and enter the amount of sapce.

4. Click Finish on Extend Volume Wizard page.

5. Now, you should see the Disk 0 extends from 50GB to 100GB.
