How to setup Terminal Services Home Directories By default, a Terminal Services user is assigned a Home directory with his/her logon ID as subdirectory in the Documents and Settings folder if the user logs on locally or logs on to the console or logs on TS without TS Home directory. The TS creates the username subdirectory and assign permissions to the user automatically. Administrator can copy files into the user's subdirectories, but not read and delete files. To improve the terminal server performance and central management, you may want to assign a second Home directory to each TS user. To create the second Hoe directory for a TS users, following these steps. 1. Create a Home directory using Windows Explorer. 2. Share the directory assigned the username. 3. Assign permission on both Sharing and Security. 4. Open the Properties of the user. 5. Select Terminal Services. 6. Check Connect under Terminal Services Home Directory. 7. Select letter for mapping the Home. 8.
