How to install and configure
GFI MailEssentials on a Windows SBS
2003
Configuring GFI MailEssentials for Anti-Spam 4.
Configuring Directory Harvesting
Some
spammers use a known email address
to generate spam email addresses.
The Directory Harvesting stops
these types of attacks by blocking emails addressed to users that do not
exist on the organizations Active Directory or email server. By default,
Use native Active Directory lookups
is enabled. It is a good idea to set
Block if non-existent recipient equal or exceed to
2 or lager to avoid mistyped email addresses or users no longer employed
within the company. You can test the settings by clicking the
Test tab to make sure it works.
5.
Configuring Custom Blacklist
To block
any emails from which
you never wish to receive emails, you may want to add them to the Custom
Blacklist. You can add * to
block an entire domain as we discussed in
Configuring Whitelist.
