Network settings can be configured during the initial installation of the Windows or after the installation. To configure the network settings on the server you plan to install DC on the remote office, please follow theses steps:

1. Log on to the server using the local administrator.

2. Open Network Connections.

3. Right-click the appropriate active Network connection and then click Properties.

4. Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and then click Properties.

5. In the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog box, click Use the following IP address. Assign a static private IP address, Default Gateway and main office DNS as Preferred DNS.

6. Click OK to close the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog box, click Close to close the active network connection properties window, and then close Network Connections.
